2024 SEASON WRAP UP

As the 2024 season comes to an end, so does Angus’ first rookie season. The year has thrown lots of highs and lows, but more importantly, Angus has experienced the world of racing and is prepared to do what it takes to climb up the ranks.

At the start of the year, Morgan Park saw an 11-car pile-up, with Angus involved right in the thick of it. However, with no injuries and the passion to keep going, the car was fixed for the next round. He continued to build up his racing skill and knowledge, scoring consistently over the next few rounds across two different categories. Unfortunately, a challenge arose when in June Angus got caught up in a racing incident and broke his arm. The long road to recovery took him out of racing for a few rounds but he was back better than ever for the next X3 round in August like nothing had ever happened, proving his resilience.

One of the highlights of the season came when Angus had the opportunity to race in an endurance event at Queensland Raceway, the Nankang 300. Partnering with co-driver Ashton Clements, they participated in joint qualifying and two 150km races, each lasting over an hour in intense heat. The duo fought hard to finish in P15 overall, showcasing both their endurance and teamwork.

Angus wrapped up the season at Morgan Park, finishing P12 in the final 30-minute race by performing a lot of overtakes and clean driving. This helped him to finish P15 in the championship overall in his rookie season! His talent and efforts were recognised as he was awarded “The Most Improved Driver” for 2024 by Series X3 and Josh Dremel. Here is what Angus had to say about his season:

“This season will be one to remember with its highs and lows, and I definitely will not forget it. From breaking my arm in June to getting the most improved driver award in November, it has been a very fluctuating season. I am forever grateful for everyone who has joined me on my journey; I would not have been able to do this without everyone’s support, and that is something I am forever grateful for. I have made lifelong friends”
